Britta Aguirre for West Virginia
@britforwv.bsky.social
Brit Aguirre is a proud daughter of Logan County, West Virginia, a former softball star, small business owner, and community wellness advocate running for Congress to fight for the people too often left behind by Washington.
When our hospitals close and our neighbors lose care, it’s not politics — it’s people’s lives.

We deserve leaders who’ll fight for healthcare as a human right, not a privilege for the wealthy few.

This is what resistance looks like.

On October 1st, I stood on the steps of our State Capitol to protest the closure of yet another public school. I was peacefully writing with chalk when a Capitol Police officer put his hands on me — trying to silence me, intimidate me, and make me back down.

After a long day of volunteering and campaigning across the district, I wrapped things up at the Roosevelt Kennedy Dinner with the West Virginia Democratic Party.

It’s been a busy — and beautiful — weekend across the district! 💙

Friday, I had the honor of serving twice — first at a food drive in Man, and later that evening helping folks on the streets of Logan. Here's one thing I know for sure: no matter where I go, West Virginians show up for each other.

Last week, armed federal agents rappelled from a helicopter in the middle of the night and raided a Chicago apartment building.

They went door to door, detaining U.S. citizens, and separating parents from their children—all under the cover of darkness. This is Trump’s fascist America.

Yesterday, while peacefully protesting for stronger support of public education at our State Capitol, I was shoved backwards, had my phone ripped from my hand, and was threatened with arrest by a West Virginia Capitol Police officer.

There’s no denying it’s been a hard few weeks. We are experiencing political violence, free speech crackdowns, and a massive famine in Gaza.

But I’ve got faith. Faith in God, faith in our volunteer team, and faith in y’all that together, we can make a change.

Last week, I was horrified to learn of Charlie Kirk’s murder. No matter your politics, we should NEVER accept political violence.

But look at how Trump & his allies are exploiting tragedy 👇

Last week I spent two days traveling across our district, visiting Wyoming, Mercer, Summers, Raleigh, and Greenbrier counties. Along the way I was grateful to spend time with family, visit family property, and connect with constituents.

Let’s build a West Virginia where no one gets left behind.

Born & raised in Logan County, I’ve sat with neighbors losing loved ones to addiction, veterans broken from wars, & kids aging out of foster care. I carry Narcan, comfort grieving mothers, & fight for folks the system abandons.

I’ve spent my life in Logan County helping people heal from addiction and trauma. I carry Narcan everywhere I go. I’ve held space for families planning funerals for their children. That’s why this race is personal—for me and for all of us.

For years I’ve sat with West Virginians struggling with addiction—mothers worried sick about their kids, neighbors fighting for their lives, families torn apart by a crisis they never asked for. I know the human cost because I’ve lived it alongside them.

Carol Miller had a choice: stand with Epstein’s victims or protect predators in power. She chose silence.

As a mother and a fighter, I’ll never cover for abusers or sell out survivors for political clout.

Carol Miller cashes in on opioids while West Virginians suffer. I’ll fight for treatment, healthcare, and dignity for every neighbor. Enough corruption. It’s time to heal. Join me at britforwv.com.

I traveled from WV to DC because when Trump calls in the National Guard against his own people, that’s not “law and order”—that’s tyranny.

Our neighbors, our families, our communities are not pawns in a political stunt. We deserve leaders who protect our freedoms, not attack them. #StandwithDC

I made a promise when I launched this campaign: I’ll never take a dime from AIPAC or the war machine lobby that funds genocide in Gaza.

Today I’m proud to share some big news—Track AIPAC has endorsed me in my race against Israel-First Rep. Carol Miller.

This Labor Day, we remembered the Battle of Blair Mountain — when West Virginia coal miners fought for the right to unionize.

My family ran the boarding house where Mother Jones stayed. Their spirit of resistance is in my blood.
