This was such a wholesome moment! Mariners fan Jameson Turner who caught Cal Raleigh’s homer with these incredible handmade shirts. Cal got him a bat and told him to keep the ball.

Kevin Brown and Ben McDonald have worked together for seven years on Orioles broadcasts.

Before the game, and before's McDonald's viral comment about hockey, they both separately told The Athletic they were joking about McDonald disappearing. More:

One of the things I would enact if I ever was commissioner is to make team owners speak publicly, at least once a quarter. (You want to be an anonymous billionaire, don't buy an MLB team.)

Anyways, good on Steve Cohen. The sport needs more accountable owners.

The New York Mets' collapse is one of the worst you'll ever see. Despite being 21 games over .500 in June and owning baseball's best record at the time, the Mets failed to make the playoffs. Making things worse, no one "chased" them down. They just blew it.

No he was an AGM along with several others. Boston reporters said he was a finalist to be promoted there to No 2.

Paul Toboni will be named president of baseball operations for the Nationals and will hire a GM under him, sources say. A huge jump for Toboni, who was the AGM in Boston.

After the Nationals won in 2019, pxp guy Bob Carpenter pushed for and bought World Series rings for some of his MASN staff. During Covid, he got 60 gift cards for people out of work.

Carpenter is retiring this year. On a legacy far beyond baseball:

Another interesting name in this is Royals AGM Scott Sharp, who went to George Washington University, where the Lerner family has strong ties.

Red Sox AGM Eddie Romero interviewed for the Nationals GM job, according to an industry source. Washington is aiming to make a decision on the job by season’s end.

for Bandwagon, I wrote about the Tigers, Angels, and Rangers not offering maternity leave; how that wasn't even the main point of the story that brought that fact to light; and how people care only care about sexism when it's salacious. bandwagon.substack.com/p/71-its-ant...
