When I left for Japan to further my studies, I never imagined that it would lead to this, such an amazing experience that I will be eternally grateful for ❤️
I am delighted to share that my research has been included in a new book - my contribution focuses on the use of 3D CAD technologies to digitally restore elements of the Daishōji taireifuku, a circa 1887-1890 Japanese ceremonial court dress that originally belonged to the Meiji Empress.

Doing customer service work in my NZ hometown after living overseas is starting to give me an identity crisis, I've had two customers this week ask where my accent is from 🥲

Glad I was able to do this before returning to NZ, the students were delightful and it's nice to have my work in fashion+tech still be of interest after graduating ❤️
Recently I was invited back to Bunka Gakuen University to host a lecture about using digital tools in fashion research. Students also tried out the university's new Meta Quest 3 headsets to design 3D garments in virtual reality using Gravity Sketch. More: www.fashionlacrum.com/articles/usi...

Always a great day when I get to work with beautiful garments 👘
This week I worked on adding a selection of furisode to the Matsukata House Museum collection. These garments have a beautiful and layered history - was very exciting to work on these pieces to aid with future research and display.

Feeling fortunate to see the sakura in my neighborhood before moving back to New Zealand in a few weeks. I intend to return to Japan eventually, but it will be nice to see friends and family again along with having more floorspace to work on fashion projects. Three years has gone by so fast! 🌸

This was a lot of fun to put together, snuck a copy of Carmen Sandiego in there when I found it in storage! Was a hard decision between that and the Magic School Bus 💿
More of the exhibition I developed for the Matsukata House Museum, focusing on the evolution of technology at Nishimachi International School. Been an incredible experience to see visitor's eyes light up when seeing tech they recognize & students seeing them for the first time ever.

What I've been up to lately! 💾
For the past few months I've been preparing an exhibition for the Matsukata House Museum, focusing on the evolution of technology. Been especially exciting getting up close to these old computers and having them be in working order after several decades (or more!)

Bless my grandmother who keeps sending me charms to put on my Crocs. I feel like a kid with jelly shoes back in the early 2000s and it's amazing

My second published work! Not slowing down either, got a busy year ahead ❤️
Late last year, the transcript of a speech I presented at the symposium about the Meiji Empress’ taireifuku was published in Kamizono. It speaks about my research towards preserving the Meiji Empress' tareifuku with the assistance of 3D technology.
