Likely the active combat will cease for some period of time. IDF exhausted. Hamas on the ropes. Palestinians smashed. Hamas will never disarm. Israel will never agree to deal with Hamas as the government of Gaza. The IDF just bought 10 years until the next Arab war to destroy Israel.

Great news of Trump crafted ceasefire to take effect this weekend with complete return of all Israeli hostages living and dead. A huge tragedy generated by the brutal Hamas murders on 7 Oct two years ago. In the short term humanitarian aid will resume massive help to Gaza civilians.

Trump 21 point proposal for peace in the war against the vile Hamas terror group has created increasing possibilities of a short term end to violence and return of the Israeli hostages. Hamas not yet agreed to disarm or accept foreign peacekeepers. Gaza a humanitarian disaster.

Trump peace proposal actually a decent framework to bring about an immediate cease fire and the return of hostages. Longer term outline ambiguous. Hamas extremely unlikely to support this effort. Never disarm. Will insist on regaining political control of Gaza.

The Armed Forces must be politically neutral. Be respectful and responsive to the President and Sec Def. The safeguards to the Constitution rest with Congress, the Judicial system, the voters and the media. In my view our democracy is in grave danger.

No. The problem more likely to be unsound orders that are legal under the Emergency Powers Act. However, the bottom line is that the Armed Forces will remain compliant to the Commander in Chief.
