Ty for the solidarity, and sorry to hear it is a difficult time. My problematic relatives are dead which relieves my Christmas. Some non-fundy churches do a contemplative service 'Blue Christmas' on the solstice 21st. Normal midnight mass is not tainted for me, so I do that.

Yes, I have been thinking about this 😺 Surely someone out there has followed the historical divergence up! I going to guess there is a US masculinity thing happening that requires mens shoes to be bigger. For... reasons. 🙀 US clothing is labelled 2 sizes smaller than Oz or UK clothing however!

😶 I just bought a mens pair of ASICs from Rebel and it was labelled US10 (I am definitely a UK9 in cross trainers) I wonder if there has been a change in between my last buy or the mens/womens difference has always existed!

This 'US/AU' labelling for size seems a bit confusing. Usually AU follows UK sizing.

JMN is one of my heroes. I was thinking yesterday that if had offered to the modern Church he may not have gotten through the discernment process (considerable health issues in a risk-averse Church).

The Anglican church does not hold the RC position. Recalling the account of an elderly priest who told his confessor (Anglican) that after mazzing it up he would pray about it... The confessor told him to stop praying about it. 😺

I do remember when Mr Howard pork barrelled pensioners (continued by Mr Rudd). At the time trying to get home care services for elderly ones and thinking all that money could have gone into a sovereign wealth fund with the interest used to fund more desperately needed home care services. 🤬
