After a few drafts getting to know the cards with a few 5-3s and 4-3s, I went 7-1 with mono red. Having multiple Fire Nation Cadets felt like a winning core. I should have identified I wasn't going to play a 2nd color sooner, it would have saved me a few unused picks.
