Personally not a big fan of cottonwoods pollen, kicks my but. They’re a softwood which can also be troublesome, any branch cutting should be sealed asap, to reduce chances of disease and rot.

Cottonwood isn’t an easy one, as their roots grow like crazy. Yet it is possible, if you’re wanting to ßonsai it, it would be best to do a root spread and root pruning sooner then later. If not it will clog the drain holes very soon and or become rootbound ‘nd choke itself.
