Ex-Labour voter, no more after they became the third cheek of the fascist right uniparty. "no amount of cajolery, and no attempts at ethical or social seduction, can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred for the Labour party"
Why use one word when you can hide behind a cloud of them? (hides)

To put it another way they've merely shifted from a socialist movement to a sociopath movement.

It failed at its purported purpose (hence more authoritarian laws being considered, like state censorship on smartphones) but has led to data breaches (including my own) mass blocking of useful innocent information, and a worse than Section 28 erasure of (non pornographic) alt lifestyle content.

Absolutely, no argument there. Bear in mind underground cables used in cities are far more costly than overhead, costs are mostly due to build out, and the cost of turning generators down due to lack of connectivity is greater than transmission costs at the moment. Hence I agree with do both.

You've just gone full circle. "Used very locally" only makes sense for physical objects with associated transport costs/emissions, but far less so for electricity, where the cost of initial cable runs/maintainance and some small losses over long distances are the only things to consider.

Serious question. Is protesting platforming the same as blocking free speech? Not everyone gets the privilege of a platform ever offered to them. Not just any platform, but their own platform?
December 22, 2025 at 8:38 AM
Yes and no. It's tempered by the implication it occurs due to a Reform landslide, with everything that entails. So I'm not having fun, I'm angry at these self-proclaimed "sensible centrists" for destroying the Labour party from the head down, trapped in a suffocating bubble of their own smug idiocy.

Without the glasses of nostalgia, I disliked the Star Wars sequels because it felt less like the "proper evil" of the original and more like a bunch of whiny spoilt idiot brats drunk on playing being bad. I've since come to understand it's a far more accurate portrayal of evil than the original.

No, Brexiters sabotaged the deal because there is no deal with Europe that is"out of Europe" enough for Brexiters, and there never, ever will be. Even now, with a hard Brexit crash-out, they are still moaning we're not "out of Europe" enough.

This is why I agree that Starmer is worse. It's because I don't think Starmer has limits. He's the banality of evil. He'll make a monster of himself through increasingly repressive and authoritarian policies just because the spreadsheet says so.

With Boris, by some accounts we've been given, the clowning and buffoonery were a fascade to hide a ruthlessly self-centered, nasty piece of work. But he knew when he'd been a Naughty Boy, he'd waffle, or go hide in a fridge. This implies there were limits, although who knows what they might be.

One thing I keep coming back to is Starmers speech echoing Enoch Powell, where his excuse was that he had "no idea." Not contrition that he'd displayed the same values, but an excuse that he was merely a robot without feeling reciting what was put in front of him without understanding. A Hollow Man.

What will you do when this low-cost low-quality meat is incorporated into other products? Will you check the back of every label, every time, even if the front has a big Union Jack on it? Will you ask at every restaraunt and takeaway?

Border delays due to Brexit, unfortunately. Most of our food imports come from the EU and spend far longer at the border for checks than it did previously. Hopefully the removal of checks in advance of an SPS agreement will make this rare again.

Oh dear, I realise how inaccurate they are. However, only the extent of the devastation differs from other polls, not the outcome, all thanks to trapped in a bubble, convinced of their own correctness, holier-than-thou right wing Starmerite cultists.

Personally 'd rather not see what Blue Labour is plummeting towards, thank you very much. bsky.app/profile/left...

Unfortunately, in a first past the post electoral system with elected representatives for each constituency, it's spot on to indicate overall control. It all depends what you're trying to show. One proportional on population is misleading as it pretends everyone in a constituency voted the same way.

I'm sure there are many good Labour MPs, but the party is rotten from the head down. It's not a matter of choice, it's a matter of where these people have always stood - the vipers are already in the nest.

The successes of the ruling class are generally by accident rather than design. What's an elite to do when things go wrong? Admit to themselves that their privileged position was never justified, or invent something to explain away the seemingly inexplicable failure?

I just mean it's over compressed to the point of blurring. It has the smell of being AI thanks to that, the panels don't align to any specific direction, and don't seem to be where the landscape could support them. On the other hand, it's China, where whole cities have been built then left empty.
December 19, 2025 at 1:46 PM
Interestingly, even here it's blurring once uploaded to Bluesky. I see they've got potato compression in full effect.

Fair answer, apologies for the way I came across. It's possible to get better stills using screen shots from videos outside of X, let alone promotional shots (which very well may have been "greened up")
