Ah I do miss smoking (sometimes)

I thought the finger was a cigar
brokenbiros.bsky.social
I think so but can we rely on the Traitors’ production team’s interpretation 🤔

Some of us are still sitting here trying to figure out whether Rosencrantz and Guildenstern count or not in the Shakespeare question #celebritytraitors

Fab talk on ‘Charnel Tombs of Stuart England’ by Roger Bowdler tonight at Highgate Cemetery (as part of London Month Of The Dead), including a delicious mug of punch!
Waiting for the talk to start in Highgate Cemetery Chapel with a mug of punch A slide from the talk showing a selection of details of charnel tombs

It doesn’t seem like it’ll last at all so probably won’t bother with the full size

I got a tester of Orris Florentia in my previous order, quite nice, smells like Parma Violets
brokenbiros.bsky.social
I’ve also just caved and bought two Christmas candles and the perfume even though I literally had an order delivered today. Oops.

Firewood Candle is back?

AND all the Christmas candles

@lucyfishwife.bsky.social Of COURSE they would do this the day after I place my order

Yes that sounds like a very similar experience. Actually I’ve got a memory now that I DIDN’T go straight to sleep but in fact went for a pint and then went back to my room to pass out

That’s partly why I did my masters, even though doing it alongside full time work nearly broke me

I got a 2:2 which I didn’t really deserve

I really needed to get away from where I lived, and work out who I was. University gave me that and it’s probably been more use to me than my degree has been.

It was part time and ‘distance learning’, which weirdly means I’ve never once set foot on the campus of the university which awarded it, or met anyone to do with it in person.

Amazing. Think I dropped my dissertation off at the binders at like 9am and then went straight to bed
brokenbiros.bsky.social
Partially in my defence (?), I was the last year before fees were introduced which made the whole experience more guilt free than it might otherwise have been
brokenbiros.bsky.social
I also did this, did a masters in my early 30s at the same time as doing a full time job which was clearly insane.

Absolutely me except it was more like one week. Seem to recall I wrote my dissertation in about 48 hours which included an all nighter. We didn’t even have social media, mobiles or even internet in our rooms so god knows what I was actually doing.

Most of the people I met at university were not doggedly pursuing knowledge, they were doing a bare minimum of work while partying, until six weeks from the end of the third year.
