It is the ignorance of not understanding the truth that leads to all suffering. Therefore, the core spirit of Buddhism is not about escaping suffering but about facing the truth. Suffering is merely the energy that prompts us to discover and awaken to the truth.

The most important aspect of the Truth of Suffering (Dukkha) is the suffering of conditioned existence, which refers to the defiled aggregates arising from ignorance. The core of Buddhism is to address ignorance. “Buddha” means “awakened one,” and what is awakened is the truth.
