I feel like I remember those being baby brains in it. That was what caused to 'bot to go nuts. Baby needs defeated software controls.

Star Trek is the first show tat I can remember watching. Before I was potty trained, I was calling every alien in the beginning and end credits a Klingon, and fantasizing life aboard Enterprise. I took many life-lessons from the original series. At least, once I was old enough to see them.

Una is still Number One, Ortegas still flies the ship, La'an can still be Security, M'Benga is still in sickbay (I know, he was in TOS twice: Let's say he was passing by on those days).

They leave with a Talosian in tow in order to allow Pike to appear to be out of the beep-beep chair, and so the Talosian can bring fresh new experiences home to his people. They get another, very obviously Starfleet, but new config ship. More Miranda than Constitution class or something.
