In the third picture I recognise Piquet (wearing a pair of very modern-looking Nike shoes 😊), Patrese, Prost, and Tambay, but who is the guy behind Prost? Pardon my insane curiosity 🙈

Hey! I see the Belgian there, but where is the GP? 😜

I have never been impressed by any of Tilke's circuits, to be honest. Call me what you want, but a lot of my interest in #F1 will be gone the day when tracks like Monza and Spa won't find a place in the F1 calendar. It's surely just me.

Goodness me! 8.2 meters?! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campbel...
Looks quite modern for being a... "car" from 1935!

And look at that car: twin rear tires, rear engine... That Auto Union was a beauty!

Nice picture! And it really looks like all the rain of the season fell down in Monaco that day 😉

Bell is not in the third picture though: they are Marc Surer and Manfred Winkelhock, aren't they?

I sent a message to @cfgmgmtcamp.bsky.social yesterday, asking if there was a chance for the deadline to be extended. That sounded like a no. I am not sure yet if I can join this year, so I can't send in a proposal now. I will clearer plans for February-March later this year, but not today for sure.

Checking the Wikipedia page for the race, and noticing an incredible 8th place for Andrea de Cesaris #RIP on a Minardi-Motori Moderni machinery, from 22nd on the grid. Wow, just wow... 😮
Meanwhile, Allen Berg, team mate of the aforementioned Ghinzani, finished last in 16th and behind retired cars 🤦

The parked blue car in the second picture, is it an Osella or a Ligier?

I think Sospiri had a genuine talent, and could have achieved great things in #F1 if only he had a different career path. Don't you agree Matt?

Of all the teams that existed in 1979, only three remain today: McLaren, Ferrari, Williams. All the teams in that picture, except Ferrari, are dead: Lotus, Brabham, Alfa Romeo, Arrows, Tyrrell, Wolf. Sure, one can say that Tyrrell is still alive as Mercedes but... is it really the same team?
