I can't be around as much these days as I used to unfortunately. I'm barely an internet presence at all these days. Life's gotten very busy alas, but I still consider Mavis a good friend. I'll continue to support them. Ive never felt grifted, not when I can see all their efforts behind the scenes

I worked with them to get scheduled breaks incorporated into their streams, to encourage them and others that its okay to take a break. To rest your hands. Been a mod for years and years. The grind is genuine. But its important to rest. To model rest for others so they know its okay for them too.

They never really got free of the grind. I originally became friends with them to encourage taking breaks and avoid over work. I've been there, I've worked my hands until I hurt them so bad they were unusable for a month. Hand injuries are no joke, and they take such a long time to heal its -rough-

I hear someones bring up 5 year old twitter beef from 2020, around their old art account. I remember them from back then, spending time with them as they overworked and injured their hands with RSI drawing constantly just to get by. They gave up art, the grind was literally injuring them. I saw it

Their partner used to work at starbucks, a lot of those are gone. Mavis used to do call center work, then data entry work, but these jobs too are rapidly vanishing all the time. Its wild to take their work as a streamer, as someone self employed, and for folks to call that avoiding having real a job

Mavis isn't rich, and when I met them in person a few years ago, they were effectively homeless staying at a friends place. Its no lie that they need help getting by. I think these days most folks need help, and its not getting any easier out there. The job market ain't what it used to be.

They started out in art and then later took up streaming. They put a lot of heart and sweat and work into their streams. Folks might say streaming isnt a real job if it doesnt pay big, but I believe in the work. I support it gladly. They've helped folks find community in ways others couldnt

I was into it in like the 2013ish years, but all the megapauses etc had me lose interest and move on to other stuff before any of the sequels came out. I got a friend or two who is still into it though lol. But I agree that a lot of the music still holds up pretty well

This is not a serious idea. Its a joke about that time I was a moon druid and had a DM who ruled that critical misses hit the nearest party member instead of the enemy. So many creatures have bite or swallow attacks. The other players had to remind my druid not to vore them, she didn't mean to 😂

Gone are the days where I like, start to peel the plastic back but the grip bit rips off instead of peeling. Or like times when the grip bit was too small to grab easily. Just weave a spoon between your fingers and its suddenly so much easier to get that peel going as intended. Enjoy the lifehack :)

That one hallowmas where I had 300 fallen londoners all working together with defined jobs. It was like a well oiled machine. Thats my second favorite achievement after discovering the heptagoat. I was looking over an old thread where luke called me the goatiest striker and it was really sweet lol

If you want to challenge yourself to crawling in the law furnace seven times, be sure to do it before solving the puzzle. You get locked out by getting the item lol

This was after I tried crawling into the law furnace unprotected 4 times. I was gonna go for a full seven but then I heard it was supposed to be a puzzle and not just a way to get to free chess with my pal the boatman fast. So I solved the puzzle riddle. Was sad it didn't let me crawl in more after.

It's one of those thing where I feel like you'd have had to been there when the system changed to really get it.
