The other problem is vaguery around when a news agency is covering the "political campaign" versus when they're spouting propaganda but not explicitly covering a candidate.

And that problem exists in Australia too - Sky News, Herald Sun, crazy "news" pages on Facebook, etc.

This is actually legislated in the US. The problem is that there are so many caveats to the law - most notably that it only applies to broadcast radio and TV (law was never updated for the internet or even paid / cable TV channels).

The citizenship ceremony by Darebin Council emphasised the First Nations welcome and the diversity of cultures, with people from 48 nations today receiving citizenship in the council. It was immediately followed by a beautiful Aboriginal Welcome to Country smoke ceremony.

This also virtually guarantees that every injunction against the federal government shall always make it to SCOTUS, doesn't it? In all the federal court districts and circuits, I'm sure virtually every decision ever will have some judge somewhere who dissents - creating a split.
