Marshland with a small pond, a sand dune covered in grass at its back. Small green plants are at the foreground of the picture, the marshland is covered in very dark red brush and the grass on the sand dune is very washed out yellows and greens. A crow flies over a pond in marshland, a grassy sandune at its back, heading toward a reedbed. The same crow is now flying over said reedbed, it is orange at its base in the water, much lighter and almost white in he centre and a gentle yellow a the top. A crow perches atop a small pine tree.

tick-ridden hedgehog,
too small for hibernation,
staying for winter.
Hedgehog facing the camera, its body is obscured by the two hands holding it. Bright eyed and wet nosed. Lots of ticks but no fleas.

First week of tortoise hibernation is over. Just checked on them and they're all doing well, haven't heard any movement since the day they went down either. Now I get to stop stressing about them until spring! Woooo!!

Bleak but beautiful. From now until April is my favourite time to go to the beach
