As a RAAF shift worker I would be asked to be a 5SQN ‘strop mannequin’. Trainee pilots would drop me into timbered areas and extract at their leisure. Being on the end of that line seemed like a good idea at the time. Only later did I cue the ‘trainee’ part of the formula and question my sanity.
