Also you are taught the ‘correct’ version (Hochdeutsch, etc). My mum spoke German from being born middle-class in Vienna, so could say ‘this is right’. My dad learnt German in school in Australia, so could explain why/how etc.

Surely a better strategy is to teach people to use SocMed properly, and not be gits. It's reminiscent of UK alcohol laws, and people going on benders when they are of age (or appear to be), instead of being introduced to alcohol sensibly as I believe occurs in Europe.
