All things are transient, "this too shall pass" &c, but some things return time and again. All artists have their favored subjects, all perspectives will reliably prickle when brushed against certain stimuli. Perhaps a melancholic heart is a blessing. Perhaps a curse. Will time tell?

"If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life" is plainly wrong. The truth is this: if you love what you do, sometimes you'll come home from work and immediately start doing the same thing for free.

My ultimate takeaway from the internet is this: people are strange.

It may appear that things are broken. This is incorrect; they have always been this way. Incursions are simply more overt, done with less finesse. The veneer has worn away and left only the ugly truth.

Keep your ears open tomorrow, but not too wide. You never know what might crawl in.

Theory without implementation is ultimately useless. But implementation of theory is infuriating. Pick your poison.

Despite what people might say, life is quite long. Can you even imagine spending 20 years?

Never forget the old adage: "measure twice, cut once". In digital fields, measuring twice often includes radical change to your intended design.

The work may never be done, in its entirety. Some may find this a nightmare, but it's all that keeps me sane.

taking time off is a 50/50 option. It can either allow recuperation and gathering of the self, or prolong a sense of lingering tension, apprehension, etc. Is there a way to know which will happen beforehand?

in the arena of life, those without the fight in them are either left broken on the ground, or as onlookers. an onlooker to life is a sad thing indeed.

the human body is a strange thing. finnicky and particular, but able to soldier through things far beyond its initial specs. probably a 7/10 design overall: good scalability, excellent adaptability, but a bit over-complicated and prone to error

As you advance further in a decision-tree, fewer branches remain. It is possible to choose routes to maximize your future choices, but what if none of them are any good?
December 10, 2025 at 5:15 PM
and now, we must carry on. not like it never happened, but with it in mind and considering the lessons it has taught. forming the future out of the past and present is all we can do.
