Aren't Elon and Trump against the whole "work from home" idea? Why would they suppose that magically kids can learn from home without human interaction when they insist remote work is not possible?

Safety info - microwaves DO NOT SANITIZE food, except through heat. Unless ALL of the food is heated to a safe minimum temperature, it won't kill all the bacteria in the food.
Since microwave ovens heat so unevenly, they are not recommended for cooking - only heating.

OK, here's why lower power settings are useful.
Some things, like clam chowder or tomato-based items that require a weighted lid in order not to splatter the inside of the microwave, actually behave much better at lower power settings. It takes longer, but makes less mess and wasted food.

I have a copy of the Tom Peters book A Passion for Excellence that has 47 pages where the print was moved too low by about an inch, so the bottom half inch of text on 47 pages is missing. I keep it to remind me that sharing words with others takes care, and hard work, and involves trust.
