There's no ethical consumption under capitalism (at least for publicly traded companies). But certainly some companies can be far worse than others.

I just went through my own thought process on it, and I think the tail end after starting the video has an impact too: Even if it's good and I get that hit, I might want to switch soon to get it again. But going back will never give me the hit again, since I already know it's good

I think it's the dopamine hit. You can cycle through shorter videos a lot faster searching for the hit of finding a good one. With a long video, you might get that hit, but then it's a longer time till you can search again and get another
