I think Ron Paul is out to lunch on a lot of things (and his acolytes grossly overestimate his intelligence). But this 100% *not* "blowing-in-the-wind" take for him. He pretty much built half of his 2008 campaign on it.

In terms of what ally nations can do when America is having a psychotic break? From the Canadian perspective, I'd like to see more outreach to governors. California, in particular, has a lot of power it is not leveraging and I think ally nations diplomats need to remind CAL officials of that fact.

If I'm Canadian PM in 2029 talking to a "normie" Prez (GOP, Dem or otherwise), I'm leery. "What assurance do I have that the lunatic fringe isn't going to resume messing this up in '30/32? Because what happened in '24 worries me."

(1/2) True but the idea is...in order for it to be stable, it's not comforting enough for allies to see unstable/unreliable actors removed from U.S. office. They need to be confident those unstable forces are TRULY gone.

The current admin didn't fall from the sky: U.S. lived it & had a chance to be rid of it forever. Instead, enough voters said "sure, why not? More of that!"
What does "stabilized" look like? Because "current admin gone" won't be nearly reassuring enough.
