A highly commendable manifesto for important change
Yes our #planning system - that has been reinforcing inequality & driving #environmental harm- must become a tool for tackling the nature & climate emergencies
We need #FairerPlanning in #Scotland!

Rewilding – large-scale nature restoration – offers hope for tackling the nature and climate emergencies, and can create a cascade of benefits for people, says Rewilding Britain.

At COP30 in Belém do Pará, more than 50,000 people made history with a clear, unified message:

“It is time to bury fossil fuels and build a clean, just future.”

Today, we symbolically laid fossil fuels to rest. ✊

How are Pacific NW mountain birds responding to climate change?

I got up at 4:00 am for a month to find out.

but first the backstory, or "how I spent seven years telling everyone this project wasn't possible"

I’m pleased ExxonMobil has been fined for breaching the law and causing misery for surrounding communities. While the fine represents a tiny drop of ExxonMobil’s profits, it does send an important message to corporations who disregard environmental laws that protect communities. Now

ExxonMobil said there was no actual danger but it identified failings and has made improvements since.

Mentions #Nature a "first line of defence" against #climatechange.
(Healthy ecosystems store carbon, helping limit the rise in global temperatures, & retaiining #resilience to the changes that are already happening, providing us with shelter & shade & also limiting #flooding & #soilerosion.)
It’s hard to imagine a more important task than restoring nature, which sustains our very lives and is our only home. By supporting real action through the Natural Environment Bill, our politicians can show us that at last they’re starting to make nature a priority.
