I think him coming back makes the show's current team format shine more in comparison.

Oh I agree with the DQ. They fucked up. Entirely on their end. It launched with the texture, which was all the proof needed that GenAI was used at some point.

I've just seen weirder situations in terms of asset management in games (but none with GenAI) over the years is all.

My guess is they forgot there was still one genAI texture still in the game, felt they didn't need to disclose because none of their usage ended up being used (or so they thought) and then got caught with their pants down when they found out that yes, one of their experiments WAS in the game.
