Well there's a lot of bad in the world but...as part of my midterm feedback, a student -- in response to "What is one way I currently support your learning?" -- wrote that my "whimsical personality" facilitated their learning. I didn't realize I had the whimsy in me!

My friend and I walked along the eastern shoreline of Manhattan today. We walked side-by-side the whole time. According to her Apple phone, her walk was 18.2 miles. According to my Apple phone, my walk was 15.5 miles. What?!

I did! I've only ever been a passive listener of her music (I certainly enjoy what I've heard) but I'm thinking she needs to be a staple in my social media marketing class given how she very skillfully blurs the line btwn traditional and new promo routes. Plus, I have a lecture on SMM in the arts ;)

I'm prepping for my lecture on Cardi B tomorrow (in the context of social media campaigns). Recently, a woman went viral on TikTok because she carries a picture of Malala Yousafzai to hold her accountable and get work done. Clearly, I need to print my own pic of Cardi B. The woman doesn't rest.

It’s tough. I really took that joy of connection for granted! I suppose I should create more compelling content that resonates and surely I’ll find my community here (please note the bit of sarcasm). I’m grateful for the connections I have but miss being able to do more good.

Full disclosure: I’ve only read the abstract. With that in mind, I had such a strong reaction to the finding. Bluesky has not replicated #AcademicTwitter for me. Of course, I am but 1 person in a particular discipline (or 2). But it remains that I’m quite disappointed in my ability to connect here.

There is nothing more for you to do. Your neighbor needs to live in reality. They can purchase noise canceling headphones, use a white noise machine, touch grass…so many things. And I say all this as someone who is very sensitive to noise…

My child free perspective: If you have rugs/carpet and alternate between soft and hard toys, there’s nothing more to be done. You’re being a good neighbor and when working from home you have to accept that others will be using their homes to live in.

There are different ways to interpret this question -- is it about the origins of the cuisine or where the restaurants/food is literally being made for my consumption. If that's the case, I'm going with H because...I think that's where Chicago is and I'm not giving up my fave restaurants.
