Today's teatime tunes: originally recorded by Harpers Bizarre for the soundtrack of a 1968 straight-goes-hippy Peter Sellers vehicle, I find this version by NJ's Blades Of Grass superior.

First listen to this new one by Smote , basically a one man Geordie band, heavy, hypnotic, druidic incantations, like walking anti-clockwise round the Ring of Brodgar to set back time. Appealing echoes of Swedish psych titans International Harvester and their offspring. Recommended.

Today's teatime tunes: for real Heads, wonderful Hindu influenced psychedelic raga dirge befitting an extraordinary Boston guitarist who studied with Ravi Shankar and was 'musical director' for his friend Timothy Leary's acid drenched events at his Millbrook estate. Mesmerising music.

4th December, 1965, an Acid Test occurred on 5th Street, San Jose. The Grateful Dead played their first gig but bands were only a part of the psychedelic culture at that stage, it was broad, multimedia, with poetry, sound manipulation, theatre, light shows and forays into nature.
