When I sit in the @bsrome.bsky.social courtyard I always think about my MA research on Roman gardens & how they were healthy spaces. Despite the chaos of Rome (which is just on the other side of the walls), it’s so peaceful here. Full of greenery, water & the sounds of nature 🦅 🌲 ⛲️ #RomanGardens

OMG 😦 I’ve found a copy of Monumenti Antichi (42) 1955 at the @bsrome.bsky.social which has EVERYTHING I need in it. The online catalogue suggested it wasn’t available, but whilst randomly perusing the shelves I found it! IM SO HAPPY 😂 Massive thanks to the lovely Library team who helped me!

Cassy joined the BSR in November 1991 and left in September 1999 to move to the USA with her family. Her contribution was highly valued, described by the then Director as ‘an extraordinary combination of efficiency, perception and tact’. We send our condolences to Cassy’s family.

The British School at Rome is very sad to report the untimely death of Cassy Payne, who held the post of Registrar for a number of years in Rome.
