Self-hosted relays are not in that good of a _documentation_ state, but that’s something team is working on

Honestly my only concern right now is possible name collision for “app.your-creation” part, but that is connected via domain name and should be ok? Idk about the case when domain expires and gets bought by another entity though

So if you’re building another app on atproto - you just connect to relay, listen to all new entities which conform to “app.your-creation.*” type and that’s it

There is no “indexer” per se, each pds (personal data server) is connected to “relay” via websockets, publishes everything in there, and bsky just list listens to relay for new “app.bsky.*” records (again realtime via websockets)

honestly not surprised about that one being laggy
