And Baum did cite Arcadia as inspiration for the new paradigm in a NEJM article ten years ago, so perhaps Stoppard knew of his impact.

It’s hard to characterize…I call it an example of historical magical realism. On a TLS podcast, it was teased that Sudden Death focused partly on a 16c doubles tennis match in Rome, which used tennis balls stuffed with Anne Boleyn’s hair. I couldn’t not read it. Book’s structure is tennis matchy.
