You getting snow? Central Ohio has 3 to 4 inches. First major accumulation, so most schools are closed.

I respect that. I have that with Rowling. I like Harry Potter, but I won't purchase anything else. I'll read what I have or watch on TV, but that's it. And at least no one is getting rich off filk.

Possibly. She really was out there. If she were in Appalachia instead of Arizona, she probably would have been a bootlegger. That is the impression I got from her. She pulled a knife from her boot in my friend's kitchen to prove it was bigger than a kitchen knife.

A lot of what she wrote, including Carmen Miranda's Ghost, was written long before mainstream society even had a clue what trans was. Can you like art from pre hate? I get it. And I actually met her once. She was...interesting.

One of those where I love the art, but not the artist's political views. At all. I met her once. It was...an experience. And that was in the 90s. When the idea of trans was just hitting mainstream society. She was talented, just touched. Drawing 12 inch knife touched.

I agree. This chicken parm is really good. Hard to believe it's a frozen dinner.

Anything by Seanan McGuire/Mira Grant. Under Seanan, her real name, she writes urban fantasy. Under Mira Grant, it's a bit apocalyptic, a bit near future - like zombue (hate zombie books, LOVE Newsflesh series) and epidemics LONG before Covid.

A series would be great! Find an actress who could look Italian. Imagine someone like Goldie Hawn as grandma. Or find an unknown like Estelle Getty befire Golden Girls. Make a new older star.

It's a fun series. And book 1 is so much better than the movie. Bad casting, in my opinion. Katherine Heigl is NOT Stephanie Plum!

I was in the vicinity age-wise. Difference, I saw it before I read it. And dang it, I wanted to know what happened next!🧙‍♂️

Yeah, but i read the books because of this movie. It originally ended with Frodo and Sam, pointing to the horizon. "And there's Mt Doom!" The End. Wait! What?! I begged my mom to get me Fellowship of the Ring, and the rest is history.
