Pardon me for my timing, but from a Bostonian to Buffalonians: Once your team wins the big one, all past debts are paid in full.

As you may have heard, Ichiro Suzuki was one vote short of a unanimous selection for the Baseball Hall of Fame on Tuesday.

Who left him off their ballot? Do we really need a name?

We do, @buckinboston.bsky.social writes. But not for the reason you think ⤵️

Is it OK to boo the Patriots? Yes. But booing takes many forms, and I break down the different kinds in this column @TheAthletic. I even got Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson to weigh in. Jackson told me it was “an honor” to be booed at Fenway.

Fans should be encouraged to boo (responsibly). Nowadays, it’s the best form of expression
With the growing social media spitfire, booing remains the best way for fans to express their emotions in a controlled setting.

You all know Jim Donaldson was a fine columnist. I’d like to add that he knew the great restaurants in every city, and his many opinions over dinner made for fun evenings. I’d say, “What time in the lobby and do I need a jacket?” Jim did the rest. #legend www.providencejournal.com/story/sports...
Longtime Providence Journal Sports columnist Jim Donaldson dies at 73
A Pawtucket native and Notre Dame graduate, Donaldson spent nearly 38 careers at The Journal, before retiring in 2016.

It’s not surprising, nor unfair, writes @buckinboston.bsky.social, that Michael Vick’s sordid past as an abuser/killer of dogs gets revisited whenever he is in the news.

Give Vick a chance to coach. It will help shine a light on animal cruelty issues.

“What’s left is a Patriots franchise that can’t wait for the off-season to get here.” @ChadGraff succinctly sums things up in this piece @TheAthletic … www.nytimes.com/athletic/599...
Jerod Mayo wanted to see progress, but the Patriots are a bad team that's getting worse

Why has Bill Belichick’s hiring at UNC sparked skepticism? Let’s examine the reasons
Part of the problem might be Belichick’s spectacularly stiff and grumpy public persona, but it’s much deeper than that.

72-year-old Bill Belichick taking over North Carolina's football program is a reminder that anything’s possible, @buckinboston.bsky.social writes.

Would he consider a return to the NFL to chase Don Shula's all-time wins record at his age?

Never say never.

Are Pats worse than record says they are? It won’t be a good 3-14 if they lose out
The Patriots might have struck gold with Drake Maye. But any optimism about the playing, coaching and grocery shopping hasn't panned out.
