That's fair! I guess the worst mischaracterization would be present in things like fanfics or fan comics and I don't really look at those kinds of things so I haven't really been exposed to the worst versions of it XD

Even though I'm not one to care too much, I do find it very interesting to hear from those who do have these preferences because then you get to hear and see people's passions for characters and I think that's neat :)
