I’ve only been here a few hours and met some lovely people already. Thank you for saying hello.
Thought I’d drop in one of my favourite photos. It helped win me a portfolio commendation in the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards. Taken in a snowstorm on the slopes of Arthur’s Seat.

Only now finding time to edit photos from my trip. Two weeks of travels and one of catching up with work!

I did 175km of walking in total, some of which was getting up here for sunrise, just in case you thought I’d got a drone.

The view was spectacular even if the sunrise itself was underwhelming.

The view over Lake Bled, a small lake surrounded by trees with the famous island in the middle which holds a beautiful white steepled church.

Flat light, no mood, incoming thunderstorm. Then as the lightning started hitting the hills above me, magic happened. If the image looks soft it’s because of the torrential rain but well worth the soaking for this view.

You know what would be really good? Being able to add to portfolios from your existing posts. I’ve ignored portfolios so far because I’d need to get all those photos back onto my phone again to then repost them, and life’s too short!

Slovenia is proving spectacular. It's a bit early for the autumn colours but although the trees are still green, the forest floor is covered with golden birch leaves. And of course the rivers have to be seen to be believed.

Venice Architecture Biennale.
