I haven't had any snare making materials since I retired, but I do have access to some #8 Conibear traps. They wouldn't be deadly by any means, but they would certainly hold a guy until the people with the hammers showed up.

I don't think two hours is feasible at all, but the existence of Lynne Cox will make you think about the possibility.
