specifc things a lot harder, and a lot more insular as well, because any sufficiently complicated theory involves ten thousand assumptions that people wont agree with you about.
Just look at debates like GlitchMimic/GlitchAfton, Talesgames versus its dozens of competitors, etc.

older games there are still plenty of debates, and that's a good thing, but we can still generally agree on which parts of the games are canon, and what is HAPPENING in them (except for FNAF 4, of course).
If every basic detail of the story is obscured, that makes theorycrafting any more

I think what frustrates a lot of people, and that includes me sometimes, is that we often dont have a clear foundation to work off these days. FNAF has always had a lot of mysteries and puzzles, but the basic facts necessary to work out the rest were always there.
Sure, even with the

I think that option B makes the most sense (in that I dont see why and how Mike would be in the experimentation chambers). We shall see if we get any more information on the occupant of said chambers (would be nice if we got some non-symbolic Gregory backstory).

I completely agree with the timeline placement bit, I just think that the phone call must also have a diegetic reason to be there. It's basicly THE reason I consider Mike to be the dreamer.

Do you think that the FNAF 1 phonecall was intentionally played in the chambers during the experiments, or do you have another idea for why it would be there?

Welp, that's a thing I probably wont be agreeing on ever, but I can see how it would work under the "its all a game" theory.

Late to this post, but they DO seem to ultimately have the same goal, since Inventory Narrator is very much in favor of us finding Mimic.

I've seen this take from you before, and it fits oddly well (esp. the order). Two things I think are noteable:
The only time that we got and explicit date (unless we count AR), that being FNAF 2, this pattern was broken.

Second, and this is more of a question, where do you think SOTM will fit?

Yeah thats fine. I was mostly just trying to explain why i replied in the first place.

Oh, that's absolutely fair (and a lot of recent theory discourse has been far too much "XYZ CONFIRMS THEORY ABC!!!!", I just think the term "la-la-land" is a bit weird to use here.

Not to judge either your or their theories, but to them it's probably the same for your theories. You just have very different base assumptions.

Do we actually know if he knows about the killings
Like, he skipped town after he beat it up iirc, maybe he literally doesn't know.

Fair enough! Im hoping for a teaser for SOTM like HW1 had a teaser for SB.
A cassie update might make sense, but I dont think the protagonist of HW2 is in a place to be saved.
December 8, 2024 at 3:04 PM
Yeah, I can see what you mean! We shall have to see what we get with SOTM. On that note, any predictions for the HW2 update?

oh, the two are definetly connected, but I think thats less about tying their backstories together/making them the same person and more about showing 1.) how these two similar characters deal with similar events in VERY different ways and 2.) exploring agony possession more

Its an interesting connection, certainly, but the white tiger seems to be tied into the david/mimic origin story, which I dont really see tying into puppet stuff.

i think the stripes might just be it being tigerish
December 8, 2024 at 1:54 PM
Genuinely: and? Yeah, they're weird goosebumps stories, yeah, they'd be extremely silly as plot points of a game, but they're not canon breaking.
