I am having trouble connecting the guy who writes poetry to the poet currently. A massive life change is probably the issue. The dust hasn't settled so I am still guessing at the damage. I am very much enjoying reading all of your work!

We had a clash about the money. He said it didn’t matter. I said it did. The words just sat there between us, quiet and sharp. He looked past me, out toward the street. I poured us another drink. We drank,but didn’t touch. The silence wasn’t angry. It was worse. It was familiar.

Spares a side glance
To see if the drama is worth amplifying
It isn't
It's just mine
And it is never louder than
The noise
It is never harsh enough
To be interesting
I clash with the hand towels
But not enough to redo the bathroom
