Illyva had been informed ahead of time of the betrayal, but did nothing because she thought the prophecy would come for her pregnant sister instead. She is given tests and trialed as Mathius' wife(and she hates him... at first).-

The prophecy is that a queen shall be given to Mathius(the god of mischief and trade), and out of 12 princesses, Illyva's the only one who made it out "alive".-

Basthus(the leader of a rebellion against Larkun) is a friend of Illyva, and tells his followers to pray for her safety and uses his knowledge of gods and prophecys to aid Illyva. -

Her brother in-law, the king(Larkun) is paranoid about his status as king--and thinks Illyva will try to usurp him or his unborn son, so when one of his priest's give him a prophecy that opens a chance for him to rid of Illyva, he takes it.

The basic synopsis is in the title, 'The Sacrifice of Illyva'. The world is based off Greek Mythology, but is set in it's own world. Illyva is a princess, whose sister(Siegrid) is the queen.-
