every time I take this lens out I feel like it actively hates me, but then two or three shots out of 50+ turn out in a way I couldn't have done with any other lens, and so it stays in my bag on the off chance I see the lighting it might want again. we must imagine sisyphus happy

it needs a lot of light but not Too Much Light, it's razor sharp but good luck getting the focal plane on your subject, and then yes of course it's heavy and fully manual and unstabilized, so you need a faster shutter speed which only boxes you in more re: light

normally yes, but that isn't the problem here. look up the 135STF. it has an apodizing element and two apertures (you only really use one or the other depending on if you're using the effect or not). it purple fringes bad in any direct sunlight, and it's manual focus but the focus ring is FAST

still mad about how much I have to fight with this lens at every step to get something I like out of it but when it works it makes me just need to keep on fighting it. if nothing turned out I could sell it but no, I get glimpses of what it can do and just get reminded it's a Me Problem
