Miles Burnett for Mayor
@burnettforbing.bsky.social
Democratic Candidate for Mayor of Binghamton.
I’m honored to be endorsed by Planned Parenthood of Greater New York Votes PAC.

Planned Parenthood has always led the fight for healthcare and our rights, but they can’t do it alone. Leaders at every level must protect access—including abortion.

As mayor, I’ll champion these rights in Binghamton.

This year’s Porchfest ROCKED, bringing thousands together to celebrate our amazing local musicians. Big thanks to the organizers, vendors, sponsors, and safety officers who made it the best one yet. Events like this show the creativity and spirit that make Binghamton shine.

Next stop on our House Party Tour was at Carol Grippen’s home on the West Side. I had great conversations with neighbors from across Binghamton about their ideas for moving our city forward together. These gatherings are an important way to hear directly from residents about the future they need.

House parties bring neighbors together for real conversations about our city’s future.

Thank you to Nancy Grace for opening her Southside home to our campaign. We talked housing, youth services, and small business — and I’d love to join you for one too.

Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” will spend more than $50 billion per year privatizing public schools in America.

We should not have a two-tier education system — private schools for the rich & well-connected, severely underfunded public schools for low-income & working class kids.

Stepped into Binghamton’s history at the Phelps Mansion Museum—preserved since 1871 and home to powerful legacies like the Monday Afternoon Club. Grateful to the staff for an great tour and for keeping our city’s story alive.

Fun fact: Sherman Phelps was Binghamton’s 5th mayor!

There’s nothing like a house party to bring people together. Thank you, Bob Weslar & Grant Best, for opening your home to our campaign. The conversations we had, the stories shared, the hope in that room - it meant more than words can say. This is how change begins: neighbor to neighbor.

Had a great time at the Ancient Order of Hibernians’ Evening of Irish Music Benefit in support of the family of Binghamton Fire Lt. Scott Pavlick.

It was a moving night of music, community, and solidarity — honoring Scott’s service and coming together to support his loved ones.

🎠 Happy National Carousel Day from the Carousel Capital of the World!

I stopped by Rec Park to celebrate one of Binghamton’s treasures. Thanks to George F. Johnson, our six historic carousels have brought free joy to generations—and they’re still spinning strong.

In Upstate New York, NPR and PBS teach our kids and tell the stories others miss. Defunding public media shuts out the voices that connect communities like ours. I’ll keep standing up for local journalism, public programming, and everyone made better by it.
