Mad rambles about nothing interesting
Challenge is that if you bring in an elite LW and Martinelli becomes a backup, you potentially tank Martinelli’s value. I’d love us to keep him, but feels like now’s the time to get maximum value. Unless we can convince him to sign a new deal at a squad player salary and accept the rotation role.

Are there any legitimate links with Arsenal?

@migueldelaney.bsky.social what do you make of Nasser Al-Khelaifi appearing on CBS coverage at the end of the game? Felt like a dark cloud on the back of a deserved victory.

Such lame analysis including a completely different uncorrelated set of fixtures. In the QFs, we scored more goals than Inter and tied with Barcelona.

PSG overspending has been a phenomena the last decade, it feels like this season in particular they finally spent well - you’d take any of Kvaratskhelia, Neves or Doué in a heartbeat

Worst part for me was the second half - think the atmosphere / team picked up at the end of the first. Fans really seemed up for it after the break and the disallowed goal sucked the air out again. I wonder how it would have gone if the Merino chance had never happened.

Makes sense - he said it twice during his pre-game video message. Hard to rally fans around a relatively inorganic slogan. These are all minor points though, in general I thought the pre-game atmosphere was phenomenal.

Received less press but the constant regurgitation of “Make It Happen” from the fan banner to the stadium announcer felt incredibly canned

I’d love to see a Casamiro worldie to shut Neville up

I think people forget how competitive the Premier League is.

I think a better way of framing it is which top clubs would bend over backwards for Arteta to be their coach: Chelsea, Man United, PSG, Barca to name a few. Could even see City making a run at him if Pep ever leaves…

Absolute nonsense from anyone calling for his head.

I’d be more concerned about him leaving if the board don’t back him to the hilt this summer…
February 15, 2025 at 3:06 PM
I just don’t see it happening - seems like all the obvious options have already moved this window, worth lobbing an offer over to LAFC for Giroud?

It’s like watching a failing state sell off all its natural resources to the highest bidder, complete madness…

100% - I’m just always weary with Barca-transfer-shithousery.

It’s not about replacing Saka, to your point it’s not possible to just replace a top 3 RW in the world

It’s about it’s about adding differentiation to the attack so that we have options both when Saka is / isn’t available

I don’t see anything happening with a Prem club in Januarys.
December 28, 2024 at 1:07 PM
I don’t think the pitch is “sit on the bench 70% of the time”. The pitch is “we don’t have a nailed on ST or LW, come fight for it”

Agree that January is tough, but look at Liverpool signing Diaz & Gakpo the last few windows. He’s not a frontline forward but I’d be all over the Olmo situation.
December 28, 2024 at 11:26 AM
You need 5 starting caliber attackers to win a league. Look at the City teams that dominated and Liverpool’s team this season. We have 4-ish: Saka, Kai, Martinelli (?) & Leo (?) - Sterling & Jesus clearly aren’t at that level anymore / unreliable and there isn’t enough diversity in that rotation.
