Seems like a lot of money to spend on the new electrical design for the Bolt and the production setup, training, etc for 18 months.

Actually one more: Lewiston has a LOT of Somalis, which you-know-who seems to especially hate.

(2 of 2) Senate: 1 Republican (sort of—Collins) and 1 Independent who caucuses with Democrats. Governor currently Democratic; previous 2-term gov was a whacko Republican.

My point: I would be more likely to call Maine swing (but not as purple as NH)

(Grew up in Maine, lives next door)

While it is true that Maine has had a blue popular vote for president since about 1988, their two congressional districts each provide one Electoral vote (and popular determines the other two). Congress is also split color (with the blue district a close thing). (1 of 2)

I fear there are 2 or 3 big differences tween then and now. 1) Conservative news as opposed to mainly truth-telling news 2) Social media that amplifies BOTH sides, 3) The US Government supports these guys. I’m shocked that only 52% feel that ICE has gone too far!

Don’t forget Rev. James Reeb, a Unitarian minister, killed in Selma as well.

Interesting the NH Episcopal bishops make a lot of news. I’m thinking of Gene Robinson, first gay Episcopal bishop.

Maybe the answer is your “something something” below, but does ANYONE really need premium these days? I can see a few something somethings, but surely not at every single gas station!?!? (Note: Obviously it is not ok to lie about what you are selling regardless)

I suppose it is silly to worry about little details like the fact that the Nobel Prize committee is not really part of the Norwegian government (although they are chosen by their parliament)

…and I suspect H2 fillups are harder to find then EV chargers. Of course (relating to another recent post) you could split water with (A LOT OF) electricity to get H2.

200 mile range. Can you say “range anxiety”? :-)

How about a mayor? I’ve met Mayor Pete and what really impressed me was that he answered my question directly rather than pivoting it to a talking point.

Thank you for the memory of typewriters with no “1” character! I had totally forgotten that!

The ironic thing is that “defund the police” never meant abolish the police. It meant “move some of the funding for police to support social service experts as first responders for some emergencies”. I suspect it would be hard to totally defund ICE. We need to de-thug them!

Not necessarily a negative comment—trying to think about battery capacity. My 21 home solar panels make 42ish kWh on a summer day, so 2kWh per panel=4kWh per 2. These are probably smaller. What would be a reasonable 0-100% charge time? What kind of stove? AC?

Some of us remember how ticked off Texas was when Alaska became a state and T was no longer the largest state. Now it would be 3rd largest :-)

But say, isn’t this, you know buying votes? Isn’t that illegal. Oh, right that makes no difference.

She’s just following her hero’s behavior.

I was going to say that this is apparently a half-hearted attempt to comply with the war powers act requirement to inform Congress within 48 hours. Except that the WPA also required pre-action consultation which was not don. Grrr.☹️
January 6, 2026 at 2:45 PM
While I admit to skimming the article, it does not seem to say what % of voters each of these categories represent. And of course for Congress it would be interesting to see it broken down by state or state’s current congressional color.

Surely none of Mr. Trump’s foreign visitors promote censorship, right?
December 29, 2025 at 1:58 PM
Indeed. And those who don’t like the protests have always called the protesters un-American and law-breakers.

I don’t remember 78s sounding that good! And notice it is also located at 78 degrees latitude! Pretty cool!

A friend, Rev. Ben Atherton-Zeman, is one of those who kneeled in the street praying (and got arrested) to keep the St. Pete folks from removing a crosswalk. Hopefully they don’t find some reason why rainbow bike racks are a “hazard"

Is the current Kennedy Center board well respected? I don’t think so, except by he who appointed them.

Aren’t there standards for bridge heights and truck heights? Shouldn’t trucking companies be responsible for fixing damage that they cause (especially if signs call attention to the height like Storrow Drive Boston)
