Briefly my area of research: modern literature (esp British, French&Turkish),literary theory, & history of emotions. For my postdoc, I wish to expand my scope to contemporary literature & work on depictions of loneliness in the 21st century cultural production (i.e., lit., film, TV, arts) next. 2/2

I have finished my PhD (with a diss titled "Bored As Hell: Reading Boredom in Modern Literature) a month ago & am now officially in my post-PhD stress era, currently gathering info & looking for PostDoc fellowships--and ofc, needless to say, ideally FT/TT positions. (1/)

Okay watched it! I’m old (young?) enough to remember that I used to follow Vice YouTube channel&watch a lot of their content & also old (young?) enough to remember the time when it started losing its edge(?), became bored & not being moved by anything they did&forgot they even existed. What a fall…

Latest Georges Didi-Huberman. This time as a curator of the exhibition, “In the Troubled Air… Image, emotion, utopia": "he questions the nature of human emotions and argues that emotions do not belong to us, but rather exist in space.

Lol, the concept of parents posting videos of themselves crying is so bizarre—like why? Also, maybe bc i didn’t grow up in American culture, but i’ve never understood why parents cry&be dramatic&make a big deal when their kids go to college. Idk, feels strange to me.

finished SILO on Apple TV -- very underrated show, i loved it! a lot to think about isolation and aesthetics of isolation.
