This fabulous bottle tree has such character in those knobbly branches. Really wanted to hug it but it was too surrounded by ground cover.

Week 1 was the snowflake mandela for the Crystal Blossoms Lantern.
Each mandela is then joined to a metal ring. Make 2. Used a smaller hook for the next one. Ring is fiddly but worth it.

Gum tree, the bark opening to reveal a golden trunk beneath.

Old bark is marked with the scars of the past year. Trails left by insects, possums and weather. A fissure has opened to reveal a bright yellow trunk a deeper gold in the centre where the sunlight has kissed it longer.
