I could wax poetic about belly leather. I could talk abt intimacy, vulnerability, trust. Roll over and show you all my insides. How does creating art with my hands connect to the most universal act of submission?

But the truth is much simpler: belly leather is $20

This was also an interesting experience in how leather takes oil: the entire harness + acessories is made from one piece of english tan belly leather, but some parts became much darker than others with the same amount of oil.

Working with the triangle-rings vs O-rings was a new experience, it does make the harness a bit more stiff. I initially was concerned about this, but I think the stiffness is part of why the back looks so good; it holds shape well. The backshot is hot, is what I'm saying.

If I'm wearing gear that is stamped so a viewer can read, it means that it's been specifically placed& oriented in a way that requires another person for it to be complete.

I like stamping words on the inside bc it isn't for you (viewer, play partner, assailant, lover), it's for me. Stone stuff.

I was also considering WHY we wear stamped gear. I love seeing stamped words, lables, degredations, & adorations as much as anyone, but when it's on the outside, who is that FOR?

I've been thinking more abt the idea of "closed loop"-style stuff; gear that is complete alone, that is complete w the lights off, that is complete without the hands or eyes or touch of anyone other than the wearer.

The collar's internal tabs (where the O rings are) are stamped w GOOD/DOG, oriented so it only reads correctly to the wearer.

text on the INSIDE is important to me... the things you do to yourself, the things you keep for yourself, the things you wear for yourself. it's not about decoration or declaration. it's not about anything anyone else can see. it's about you and yourself in an ultimate form of intimacy.

2" wide, 44x7mm spikes, made to fit a 21 inch thigh. Can be used for imact when doubled over or flat, more like a whip. Feels really nice :)

nothing wrong with internally spiked gear that result in scars/bleeding, but I can't do that for medical reasons, and wanted to make something I can wear for hours at a time.
