Avid reader. Book sniffer. Someone who likes to stare at pieces of paper and hallucinate 🙂 #booksky
Up next - some fantasy. I didn't choose this just because the cover is my favourite colour - honest!

Does anyone set themselves little reading challenges to keep them reading? I have a goal of 35 books this year but I also try to read 50 pages a day which seems to have helped me get through more books! Do you set yourselves reading challenges?

I'm about 100 pages in with this and really enjoying it. A reminder of the strangeness of lockdown but written in a heart-warming way. I love the idea if books being medicine - can I get a prescription? 😁 #booksky

Book two of the Castle Deverill series. Very much enjoying historical fiction at the moment!

My next read. Totally strange and the descriptions mess with your head a bit but I'm really enjoying it! Isten is definately a character I can root for. #booksky

I've brought my latest book to the beach - a perfect sunny moment reading with the waves as a relaxing soundtrack! ⛱️☀️

And this is next. I've heard good things about this author so I'm looking forward to getting stuck in!

My latest read. The way it is told through the point of view of someone with dementia is so poignant. It moves between two time periods - young Maud trying to discover what happened to her lost sister and older, confused Maud who is determined to find out what happened to her best friend Elizabeth.

Two more books read. I loved Shadows in the Moonlight. I enjoy a good ghost story and this didn't disappoint. Will be looking out for the next book in the series! The Chalk Man was spooky and cleverly written between two time periods. It kept me guessing right until the end!

I've always enjoyed Lisa Jewell's books - ever since Ralph's Party - and her more recent thrillers show how much she has grown as a writer. This one is really hard to put down!

The boy in the striped pyjamas was harrowing- as expected. Glad I've ticked that one off my TBR though. Now on to something a bit more light-hearted.

Spending some time catching up on my reading journal after a busy day at work. Got started on a new book on my lunch break today - one of those that I haven't yet read but I think I probably should!

Another cosy read for this funny time between Christmas and New Year where you never know how festive is appropriate and there is still all the food! What else is there to do on a gloomy day other than read and eat cheese?

This is my next read. I'm 40 pages in. It's already giving me festive vibes but there is lots of mystery creeping in too!

I've just made a start on this one as recommended by a friend. Only 40 pages in, but I'm already intrigued to see how newly-widowed Elizabeth can get her life back on track after the death of her addicted, riddled-with-debt husband.
