Well let’s do a bit of compare and contrasting. Here’s me on this this day aged 16. I think it starts with one of those teaser scenes. Did I catch up with Carey? And what on earth was she doing with a national (?) front newspaper? 😳 Did Roddy ever write about Lenin, do we know? I was good at that!

Thanks Nicky.

I was a big fan of anti war songs back in the 1980s when we all thought we were going to be blown up any moment. It gives me a chance to post my badge collection again. And for all those thinking wearing badges is not enough in days like these, I say 2025 – no nuclear war so far🤞😁💪🕊️

Now there’s a left field choice! Love it though! 👏👏👏

Does this mean anything to you? 😁

PS Anything to report back from tonight?

Well this is where your plan may have backfired! Once I saw Get Carter, alongside enjoying the groove and the vocals - obvs 👍 - I thought of the scene where Michael Caine throws Alf Roberts from Corra off the car park. Once I was thinking of Alf, I was remembering how happy he and Audrey were 💞

👍 Day 1 of the advent jigsaw completed. Calendar door identified and opened. (Old school! No chocolate!) Candle lit. Horrible weather here but feeling nicely cosy. Happy December! 😊

Back at the end of October you were set the challenge to post only rap artists with links to #MusicInMusic. You knocked it out the park! 🏆👏👏👏

PS Any relation to Jack Duckworth off of Coronation St? 🤞

Day 28

There’s a story in Joe Jackson’s memoir of how he worked as a jobbing musician at the Playboy Club in Portsmouth to raise money to make his demos. He had to wear a suit! It reminds me of this song.

Day 21

It’s possible this one has already been picked 🤔 but I couldn’t resist choosing it when I spotted the lyrics earlier. Look at all those record companies!

Well, firstly, you’re going to get a sticker for being a good listener 👍

In our old house, they used to be in the attic and very inaccessible. When we moved, I made sure I put them on a shelf in the bedroom cupboard. Much handier! 😁

Found it! And damit! I wish I’d done this yesterday because then I definitely would have claimed points for the mention of a sitar tabla drum AND T Rex! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’ve just come across this 🥰
November 20, 2025 at 9:13 AM
He is 🥰

We still remember fondly his drunken celebrations on the balcony of City Hall after we were promoted. He pinched the alderman’s hat And declared himself Mayor. Gave us all the day off!

PS i’ve never actually seen a Rocky film, but I did know about the steps. They are definitely different to the steps outside City Hall in Norwich. Tower Records was the same!

Hmm… My memory is it was pretty much the same as the one we’d been to in NY, Baltimore and Boston…

It looks like they were never tempted to go with Django’s style, which I think is a bit of a shame because he could certainly teach them a thing or two about the wearing of a snazzy cravat 😎
November 9, 2025 at 11:01 PM
😂

That’s as maybe, BUT! Did the Lee and the Upsetters realise the original source of inspiration was in fact the aforementioned Belgium? And as evidence I give you The wiki entry for the film! Apparently director, producer and co-writer Sergio Corbucci named the character in the film after him 👍😊

😳 I wasn’t saying it to give you an extra thing to do – just more in the context of Lucinda Williams keeps popping up!

Nearly the weekend 😊 This is one of my favourite post cards!

Me too! 😂 At least 7 I think!

I cheated!

Ah! Lovely pics 🥰 No sign of Bill Clinton outside that hall I suppose?

Don’t forget to pop into The Holy Shop for any religious or fancy goods you might need 👍
