Desalination is usually used for removing salt from drinking water in emerging markets. If a turbine is positioned cleverly it could capture the kinetic water flow. But given power is only a byproduct, I wonder if it can be used at scale to power more than a few hundred homes.

I can reveal the upper cost threshold could exceed £60bn due to inflation by 2035, people familiar with the matter indicate.

That compares to £46bn, including inflation, estimated for delayed Hinkley Point C.
