I'm going on a canoe trip in the boundary waters (NE MN) this week. May the call of the Loons ease my suffering and heal my soul

I almost got a good shot of one the other day but I wasn't fast enough. Those buggers don't like to sit still

Now that it's not a sauna outside, I've been breaking out the camera again. I'm glad to have caught a good photo of a monarch before they leave for the year

And after a while, one poked its head out of the hole. I hung out there for a little while longer, and managed to catch the pair switching spots in a series of photos. Here's the other 2

Yeah I was pretty lucky to find that spot. One day I was on a walk and saw one flying from a distance, and it was near a small wetland with a lot of dead standing trees. So a few days later I came back with my camera and tripod, hoping to be able to spot an active nesting cavity -

This is one of my favorite photos I've taken so far, from back in April

Sorry for the break from photos, I've been doing a lot of fishing this summer. Photos will return! I'm going on a canoe trip to the boundary waters in September, but I haven't decided if I feel comfortable bringing my camera equipment yet

A record of 9-49 means that something is seriously wrong. A strike would be a good idea for them

I'm not gonna say the Rockies are good, but watching them play against the Cubs they are definitely better than I was expecting. They put up a good fight, but at the end of the day they still lost all 3 games

Rockies put up a surprisingly good fight against the Cubs on Tuesday. They lost, but made it to the 11th inning

Crepuscular rays. Such an interesting phenomenon

#weather #photography
Crepuscular rays are caused by light rays shining through dust or other haze in the sky
byronhurley.bsky.social
They're native to parts of the US, but being an aggressive and fast reproducing species they can easily become invasive when introduced to new areas

If you get a frog lure for bass fishing you can catch bullfrogs. Actually pretty fun lol
