I’ve seen ten episodes of Serling’s THE LONER now— though it stumbles over limits common to its era, I do think its best feature is a recurring refusal to wrap social issues in a tight bow by episode’s end— every finale says “the fight continues, but we’ll do it together”

another good one— Brock Peters and Lloyd Bridges take on a group of bigots— “I know that jackals run in packs, and even if you stick him in a hood with a fancy name he’s still a piece of filth not fit to walk in the daylight”
