“If someone arrives at a position via irrational means, you cannot get them to abandon that position via rational means. This is why con-artists are so powerful.”
Amid the current state of the Grifting Imbecile’s nonsensical bullshit, my daughter accomplished something cool! Sometimes we all need a break from the stupidity of the moment.

Ciatti joins swim’s record-breaker’s club as Hornbeck, Lindberg retire
Entering the 2025 NWC Swim Championships on Feb. 16, the only active school record holders, Cole Lindberg (MBA ʼ25) and Anna Hornbeck (ʼ25), were set for their last-ever meet in Bearcat gold. However,...

Growing up in Milwaukee in the 70s and 80s, Ueck was the soundtrack to my summers. All of my roadtrips across WI when I was in grad school in the 90s were narrated by Ueck & Brewer games. Baseball lost an icon. www.nytimes.com/athletic/596...
Bob Uecker, Hall of Fame broadcaster and revered baseball personality, dies at 90
In a sport he adored, Bob Uecker was "Mr. Baseball." In Milwaukee, he was just "Ueck."

The Grifting Imbecile did this the last time, too. I used to be a National Lab research scientist. His transition team sent out a questionnaire demanding a list of all professional societies, political activities, who we voted for, etc.
The request ended up dying, as they pled “ignorance”. Not now.
READ THIS.

THEN READ IT AGAIN.

The Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist Ann Telnaes has resigned from her position at the Washington Post after her cartoon depicting Jeff Bezos and other billionaires genuflecting toward Trump was killed.

Wanna know why the system is so fucked up?? Look at this graph. When those lines diverge enough, human history tells us, with certainty, that violence follows. It’s taken 45 years to get here. And we just elected a grifting imbecile that wants to push these lines farther apart.
Amid the backdrop that more than a dozen members of Trump's Cabinet are billionaires, a reminder that this is what happened to income inequality in this country once the tax rate for top earners was slashed after 1980. Trickle down does not work and top earners' priority is themselves.

Boy - do I feel this!! My wife has chronic illness and is a cancer survivor. We’ve gone to battle with health insurance companies for decades!

Not saying I’d shoot someone… I am saying that I understand the blinding rage that would lead someone to consider it.

This is a cool article about how stars like the sun tend to meet their end. Cosmic time and space are mind numbing in their vastness.
Anyway here’s a cheerful piece about how the Sun will eventually destroy all life on Earth (but not by exploding, so, you know, there’s that)
Here’s how the Sun will end all life on Earth
Our home star won't go supernova, but the end of its life will be no less spectacular.

“Worked” at a bar is quite the euphemism for whatever Boebert does, but the rest is hilarious! 😂

The plaques recognizing my patents finally arrived! Yay me! Even though it’s been 3 years since I moved over into the EV Battery Team, I haven’t forgotten everything that I learned about engines. Have we a few applications submitted on battery technology too. Nerds gonna nerd… 🤓

I’m a guitar player - lots of great musicians in my feed - but the last thing I expected to see this morning was this. The f**king grift just never ends with this asshole, does it???

From the “Getting old is NOT for the faint of heart” file - MRI showing an arthritic vertebra, squashed disc, and pinched spinal cord. Then an X-Ray with my new titanium disc implant. “We can rebuild him. We have the technology.” 😎
Recovery has been good but slow. Glad I had it done!

We had some of the coolest Northern Lights displays of the summer up here in NW WA! Most of the time, it’s too stinkin’ cloudy to get any good photos. But summer often has clear skies. Trying to maintain a good mindset under trying circumstances, like most of us.

This big fella grunted at me while I was under my car, fixing a brake caliper, this summer. Antlers still have their fuzz. He scared the s**t out of me and I bonked my head. He just kept waltzing on by once he saw I was no threat to him. Took me a second to get my phone for a picture!

After such a horsecrap week last week, here are some cool photos of NW WA! We’ve been here for over 6 years, but this Midwestern guy still marvels over the landscapes here. Inspiration resides wherever you find it these days…
