Honestly I don't have an especially strong opinion on it, I just hope they have a good core idea whatever direction they go in. That's really the key for me!

I think that would also be true of ME1. It was good in and of itself and did a lot of setting up, but probably didn't need a sequel either. It could have been standalone. But the real joy came later. That's what I mean, really.

I also put hundreds of hours into Starfield, but it's no ME (although there's a lot to like for other reasons). I don't know what the answer is really, cause mine ("double down on MEA") is clearly not what they're doing. But I'm still hopeful.

Honestly, MEA is so good, especially when it opens up. The biggest issue (IMO) is that it's really slow to get started and the initial premise is just confusing. But I love what it becomes and I just wish EA hadn't given up on it so quickly.
